Letter from CRE Coordinator, Elisabeth Stephens:
Dear parents, as we are getting closer to Confirmation Day, I like to share a reflection on the importance of the Sacrament your families are going to celebrate,
Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, society, and the world. Through Confirmation, our personal relationship with Christ is strengthened. We receive the message of faith in a deeper and more intensive manner with great emphasis given to the person of Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to give the Holy Spirit to the Church for building up the community in loving service.
When we are responsive to the grace of Confirmation and the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, we begin to bear the fruits of the Spirit. The tradition of the Church names twelve fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, and chastity (cf. CCC, no. 1832; Gal 5:22).
The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated March 2nd, Panzer Chapel for 1700-1800.
Important Information:
The sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated on 2 March 2024 and the last Confirmation class will be 28 April 2024. Confirmands are expected to continue their Faith Education until the end of the Faith formation Year.
All confirmation candidates are expected to be part of the Holy Trinity community, and they are expected to stay active by volunteering in the church ministries and activities of their choice, these activities are part of their commitment to serve God and their parish.
If Your child is a Cadet in the JROTC program, He/She can attend the Sacrament of Confirmation Day in their Cadet uniform and will be excused to leave right after mass. The JROTC CDR, Colonel Matzke understands the situation and all the families affected will be excused, so they can attend the Sacrament of Confirmation Mass. Cadets who attend the Mass will not be penalized. Cadets and Families are excused to arrive to the JROTC dinner after 1800.
Students are expected to dress in formal Attire at Confirmation Mass, it reflects your reverence for Christ and the candidate’s sincerity in taking his/her final Sacrament of Christian Initiation. Candidates will present themselves before Bishop Muhm to receive the indelible mark of the Holy Spirit, All Confirmation Candidates and Sponsors should be appropriately dressed for the Sacrament.
After Mass, the Holy Trinity Community welcomes all families to gather and celebrate the Sacrament of confirmation with Bishop William Muhm at the Panzer Chapel annex from 1800 to 1900.
Blessings,
Elisabeth Stephens
