Mass Attendance

As a reminder, students need to continue filling out the Mass Log under their personal page (studentprofilexx under Mass Log) with the time, day and location of Mass attendance. Please remember that the only valid reason for missing Mass is due to sickness. Online attendance is a great opportunity when you cannot attend, but does not satisfy the Sunday Obligation. If you have any questions regarding this, please speak with Fr. John or Fr. Jason.

Class Attendance

Just a reminder that attendance is Mandatory for both Mass and CRE classes and the retreat in January. Because we understand that sickness happens each student is alloted 2 Excused absences. Any absence outside of sickness is considered UNexcused and the AMS has a policy of ZERO UNexcused absences. This puts your Confirmandi at risk of not being able to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this April. If you know that you will miss a class and it is unrelated to sickness, you need to notify Mr. Mayor and Fr. John ahead of time in order to determine next steps.

Community Service

Because Confirmation is in March this year, the majority of the 15 community service hours should be completed prior to March. As discussed, service opportunities are ample but need to be planned ahead of time in order to get on the service rosters. The Point of Contact for leads within the ministries are listed in the weekly bulletin and are also below for convenience. Please note that these are not the only service opportunities available to the students and any ideas/plans can be discussed with Fr. John for final approval. Some ideas that have been mentioned and previously approved by Father: Student lead Rosary before Mass; Lectoring; assisting in Knights of Columbus events; assisting in pre-Mass ministry and preparation (Fellowship; cleaning before Mass; before/after Mass setup/breakdown); clean-up after CRE.
